Sports and Physical Education
SHAPING CHARACTER THROUGH SPORT
Shaping character through sport.
At Almada International School, Physical Education is a core part of our holistic approach to education. We believe that the body is a child’s first instrument of learning, and that movement plays a fundamental role in cognitive, emotional, and social development.
We also believe that active play is a biological necessity, not an educational luxury. For this reason, we promote an active school environment where sport and movement are part of daily life, in lessons, during break times, and across the wider school community. Our approach to Physical Education focuses on building competence and independence, as we believe that without motor competence there can be no true autonomy.
At AIS, Physical Education lays the foundations for a healthy, active lifestyle and prepares students for future academic challenges, in alignment with the international curriculum we follow.
