Phonics in the Kindergarten

Phonics Start

Phonics is introduced in a gentle and structured way, particularly in the 5-year-old classes, led by Primary School teachers. Through simple and engaging activities, children begin to understand the connection between sounds and letters, supporting a smooth transition to Primary and building confidence as they begin their journey into reading and writing.

Preparing for Primary with Confidence

This early contact with Phonics helps students to ease the transition to Primary, supporting a smoother integration and giving children greater confidence as they begin their formal journey into reading and writing.

Holistic and Age-Appropriate Learning

Language learning is approached holistically and in an age-appropriate way, respecting each child’s individual rhythm, developmental stage and natural curiosity. Children are supported without pressure, allowing learning to unfold naturally.

Holds a Degree in Early Childhood Education, with professional experience since 2008, complemented by specialised training in School Management and Administration and an MBA in Human Resources Management.

Throughout a professional journey developed across diverse educational settings and international schools, has built a practice grounded in pedagogical sensitivity, a strong commitment to active learning, and deep respect for each child as a unique individual. Believes in an educational approach rooted in care, attentive listening and meaningful relationships, fostering safe, nurturing and purposeful environments where every child is valued and supported in their holistic development.
